Made for this moment

An Irvine idea, brought to light.
At sky scale.

Great Park’s sports and concert spaces and Irvine’s international community offer distinct creative possibilities. We develop the visual story with you while reviewing current venue operations, neighboring uses, and the full ground and aviation plan.

Starbound Labs designs the show and brings the performance together. Our Spectra drones, in-house firmware, and Starbound OS software connect the creative work with the fleet and team on the ground.

Rooted in Irvine

A show with a sense of place.

Local inspiration. A story made for your audience.

A gathering that reflects the community

Irvine’s cultural festivals bring many traditions into a shared setting. For your event, we can develop a sequence with the organizers around approved symbols, colors, and music. The goal is an original story with a clear viewing direction and a final image your guests recognize.

A brand reveal after the meeting

For a technology, life-science, or company milestone, a drone sequence can turn an idea into an outdoor closing moment. We review the property and guests’ route outside before designing the reveal. A campus courtyard may be a viewing area without being suitable for launch.

Work with today’s concert venue

Great Park Live is a temporary amphitheater with its own current operating arrangements. A potential finale would need operator coordination, stage timing, audience sightlines, and separate operational space. We do not treat the former FivePoint Amphitheatre as an active venue.

A finale for a tournament crowd

The Great Park Sports Complex can provide context for a club or tournament celebration. Different fields and crowd positions create different views. The proposed event, scheduling, protected team graphics, and a separate flight footprint all need individual assessment.

A private story in a planned landscape

For a wedding or family gathering, the strongest formation may be a name, date, or personal symbol. We discuss trees, paths, nearby homes, and access at the exact property. The design is developed around a workable production plan rather than the appearance of an open lawn.

Former runways are not current clearance

Great Park’s aviation history does not establish a drone operating permission. John Wayne Airport and the wider region’s aviation and military facilities remain relevant to site review. City, county, and private-property permissions also differ, including at regional parks.

The airspace is part of the plan

Airports, airspace
& FAA approvals.

The right starting point is your exact venue, launch location, show height, and date.

For each proposed show, we check current FAA maps, NOTAMs, temporary flight restrictions, and the complete flight area. Nearby airports and military facilities are part of that review, alongside other local aviation activity.

John Wayne Airport (SNA)

Orange County, California · outside the city where noted

Official facility information

Include the airport in the review for relevant Orange County sites. Current airspace maps, flight volume, and the operation determine requirements.

Fullerton Municipal Airport (FUL)

Fullerton, California · north Orange County

Official facility information

Review the actual show location, altitude, current airspace, and aircraft activity. Proximity alone does not establish authorization.

Joint Forces Training Base Los Alamitos

Los Alamitos, California · military installation

Official facility information

Review installation restrictions, military aviation activity, and any required military permission separately from civilian airspace authorization and ground consent.

FAA airspace authorization

Where the flight area requires controlled-airspace authorization, we identify the applicable FAA process. LAANC may be available for eligible operations; airspace authorization for operations using an operational waiver follows the FAA’s designated process through FAADroneZone. An airport phone call is not a substitute for the required FAA authorization.

FAA authorization guidance

Stadiums & event restrictions

Qualifying sporting events can trigger temporary flight restrictions affecting stadiums and surrounding areas. We review the applicable notices and show timing; venue permission or a routine airspace authorization alone does not remove these restrictions.

Show operations & ground permissions

The show plan also determines operational waiver requirements, including a multiple-aircraft waiver where one pilot operates multiple drones. New operational waiver applications use the FAA’s Aviation Safety Hub. Venue and landowner permission, crowd separation, and any local event permits are handled alongside the aviation review.

District rules, park management plans, commercial activity, and land-use permissions must be checked for the specific park. A park event reservation does not establish flight permission.

A few things you might be wondering

Planning a show
in Irvine?

Is Great Park Live the same as FivePoint Amphitheatre?

No. Great Park Live is the current temporary outdoor amphitheater. Any proposed event needs review of its present operator arrangements, surrounding works, audience plan, and flight feasibility; a future permanent venue is not assumed to be available.

Can you plan a drone show at my Irvine venue?

Start by sharing the address, event date, and any venue information you have. We review the proposed launch area, audience viewing position, access, surrounding airspace, and site conditions before confirming whether a show is feasible.

Do you work outside downtown Irvine?

We can review event plans in Irvine and surrounding communities, including Anaheim, Long Beach, Tustin. Each property needs its own assessment of access, audience positions, airspace, and flight space.

Can the show include our logo, names, or music?

Yes. We design formations, colors, animation, and choreography around your story. Tell us which brand elements, personal details, and music matter to the event so we can discuss the creative direction.

How much does an event in Irvine cost?

Pricing depends on the number of drones, creative scope, event location, travel, and production requirements. Share your plans and we’ll prepare a quote for your event.

How far ahead should we get in touch?

Contact us as soon as you have a date and a possible venue. Early planning gives us time to review the location, develop the show, and coordinate the event requirements. Availability depends on your date and production needs.

What happens if the weather changes?

Weather is part of the planning and show-day review. We discuss operating conditions and contingency arrangements with you before the event; the final decision to fly depends on conditions on the day.
