Made for this moment

A Dallas point of view.
At sky scale.

A conference reveal downtown, a neighborhood gathering, or a celebration on the wider metro’s event grounds can each tell a different Dallas story. We connect the creative direction with the setting: what guests can see, where the fleet could operate, and how the final formation fits the occasion.

Starbound Labs designs the show and brings the performance together. Our Spectra drones, in-house firmware, and Starbound OS software connect the creative work with the fleet and team on the ground.

Rooted in Dallas

A show with a sense of place.

Local inspiration. A story made for your audience.

A visual language beyond the skyline

The Dallas Arts District’s performance spaces and museums suggest a show built around shape, color, and movement. Deep Ellum offers a different musical starting point. We can develop those influences into an original sequence for your event, with a clear visual thread that guests can follow from the main viewing area.

A gathering with neighborhood character

A community celebration inspired by Bishop Arts or a festival gathering at Fair Park should reflect the people behind it. Share the local symbols, stories, and music that matter to your audience. We translate that brief into formations while reviewing public access, crowd movement, and the ground space a performance would require.

A reveal that carries the room outside

For a Dallas company milestone or convention reception, an outdoor finale can give guests a shared closing moment. A product outline might become a pattern, then resolve into a logo or message. Downtown buildings, street activity, and the route from the reception to the viewing area help determine whether that idea works at the proposed venue.

Team pride across the metro

Dallas sports celebrations can extend well beyond city limits: the Cowboys and Rangers play in Arlington. A fan gathering could use team colors and a licensed mark, but the stadium, game schedule, and viewing location all matter. We review the actual event restrictions and avoid treating a stadium booking as permission to fly.

Something personal in a big city

For a wedding in Dallas or a private celebration in Plano or Frisco, the final image can be intimate even when the canvas is large. Names, a date, or a shared symbol can anchor the story. We start with the venue address, tree lines, neighboring properties, and guest positions before shaping the production.

The Trinity backdrop needs a ground plan

The Margaret Hunt Hill Bridge and the Trinity corridor can inspire a Dallas composition. A skyline view alone does not establish a flight site: bridges, roads, trails, land ownership, and aviation activity need individual review. We look for a readable viewing direction and a separate launch and performance area before developing the final design.

Stadium & major events

Cotton Bowl Stadium

Dallas, Texas · Fair Park

A potential setting for sports and large gatherings. Review the event schedule, applicable football flight restrictions, crowd layout, and an independently suitable launch area.

Fairgrounds & civic celebrations

Fair Park outdoor event spaces

Dallas, Texas

The Esplanade and other outdoor spaces provide event-planning starting points. Check the selected space, campus event calendar, landmark structures, public access, and operator permissions.

Outdoor concert amphitheater

Dos Equis Pavilion

Dallas, Texas · Fair Park

Concert concepts require coordination with the venue’s production team. Stage timing, roof and lawn sightlines, surrounding activity, and launch separation would shape feasibility.

Official venue website

Urban park & community events

Klyde Warren Park

Dallas, Texas

A central gathering space with an event-permit process. Its deck-park setting, nearby towers, roads, trees, and public circulation make a separate site review essential.

Stadium & fan gatherings

AT&T Stadium

Arlington, Texas · wider metro

An Arlington setting for sports and brand event concepts. Assess roof configuration, exterior viewing areas, controlled airspace, and event-specific restrictions with the venue.

Ballpark & event grounds

Globe Life Field

Arlington, Texas · wider metro

The Rangers’ ballpark is in Arlington, not Dallas. An outdoor viewing plan must account for the retractable roof, neighboring venues, game-day restrictions, and a separate flight footprint.

The airspace is part of the plan

Airports, airspace
& FAA approvals.

The right starting point is your exact venue, launch location, show height, and date.

For each proposed show, we check current FAA maps, NOTAMs, temporary flight restrictions, and the complete flight area. Nearby airports and military facilities are part of that review, alongside other local aviation activity.

Dallas Love Field (DAL)

Dallas · northwest of downtown

Official facility information

Review the proposed show volume against current airspace boundaries and FAA facility maps. The venue address, height, and operation determine which authorization is required.

Dallas Fort Worth International Airport (DFW)

Between Dallas and Fort Worth · regional airport

Official facility information

An important consideration for west-metro and airport-corridor sites. Review the actual flight area rather than applying a single airport-distance rule.

Dallas Executive Airport (RBD)

Southwest Dallas

Official facility information

Include this city-owned general aviation airport when reviewing Oak Cliff and southwest-area plans. Current airspace, traffic, and the entire proposed show volume require assessment.

Addison Airport (ADS)

Addison, Texas · north metro

Official facility information

Relevant to north-metro venues and business-event locations. Verify the current airspace and appropriate FAA process for the proposed location and altitude.

Downtown Dallas Heliport / Vertiport

Dallas · downtown

Official facility information

Downtown review also needs to account for helicopter activity and landing facilities, not only airline airports. Assess the specific rooftop, ground site, and flight volume.

Naval Air Station Joint Reserve Base Fort Worth

Fort Worth, Texas · west side of the wider metro

Official facility information

For plans extending west toward Fort Worth, review installation restrictions and base coordination requirements separately from FAA authorization. Contacting the base does not itself authorize a flight.

FAA airspace authorization

Where the flight area requires controlled-airspace authorization, we identify the applicable FAA process. LAANC may be available for eligible operations; airspace authorization for operations using an operational waiver follows the FAA’s designated process through FAADroneZone. An airport phone call is not a substitute for the required FAA authorization.

FAA authorization guidance

Stadiums & event restrictions

Qualifying sporting events can trigger temporary flight restrictions affecting stadiums and surrounding areas. We review the applicable notices and show timing; venue permission or a routine airspace authorization alone does not remove these restrictions.

FAA stadium guidance

Show operations & ground permissions

The show plan also determines operational waiver requirements, including a multiple-aircraft waiver where one pilot operates multiple drones. New operational waiver applications use the FAA’s Aviation Safety Hub. Venue and landowner permission, crowd separation, and any local event permits are handled alongside the aviation review.

FAA waiver guidance

Dallas outdoor event review

The City’s Office of Special Events reviews outdoor temporary activities. City event approval, park or landowner consent, and aviation permissions are separate parts of planning.

A few things you might be wondering

Planning a show
in Dallas?

Are Arlington stadiums part of a Dallas event plan?

We can review an event in Arlington as its own location. AT&T Stadium and Globe Life Field are outside Dallas city limits; send the precise venue and viewing-area addresses so the correct permissions, airspace, roof configuration, and event restrictions can be assessed.

Can you plan a drone show at my Dallas venue?

Start by sharing the address, event date, and any venue information you have. We review the proposed launch area, audience viewing position, access, surrounding airspace, and site conditions before confirming whether a show is feasible.

Do you work outside downtown Dallas?

We welcome enquiries for Dallas and surrounding communities including Irving, Arlington, Plano, Frisco, Richardson, and Garland. Every venue needs its own site and airspace review.

Can the show include our logo, names, or music?

Yes. We design formations, colors, animation, and choreography around your story. Tell us which brand elements, personal details, and music matter to the event so we can discuss the creative direction.

How much does an event in Dallas cost?

Pricing depends on the number of drones, creative scope, event location, travel, and production requirements. Share your plans and we’ll prepare a quote for your event.

How far ahead should we get in touch?

Contact us as soon as you have a date and a possible venue. Early planning gives us time to review the location, develop the show, and coordinate the event requirements. Availability depends on your date and production needs.

What happens if the weather changes?

Weather is part of the planning and show-day review. We discuss operating conditions and contingency arrangements with you before the event; the final decision to fly depends on conditions on the day.
