Made for this moment

A shared Aggieland story.
At sky scale.

A former-student gathering, a research milestone, and a wedding call for different kinds of celebration. In College Station, we can turn the people and ideas behind your occasion into a sequence of light, with the campus or community setting guiding the viewing and production plan.

Starbound Labs designs the show and brings the performance together. Our Spectra drones, in-house firmware, and Starbound OS software connect the creative work with the fleet and team on the ground.

Rooted in College Station

A show with a sense of place.

Local inspiration. A story made for your audience.

A reunion with a maroon thread

Former students can share a color without sharing the same graduation year. A reunion sequence might move from maroon formations into a class date or personal message, with any university marks supplied and cleared for use. The creative brief starts with your group’s story.

Put a discovery into motion

For a research celebration, donor gathering, or company milestone, choose one idea that deserves a clear reveal. We can develop an abstract pattern into a product or symbol, then assess whether the proposed audience and launch positions give the design room to read.

A community evening beyond campus

Wolf Pen Creek combines an amphitheater, festival land, and public trails. A community finale needs to fit that mix of uses, protecting public access while establishing a separate flight footprint. Stage timing and the audience’s viewing direction belong in the plan early.

Bring the game-day plan into the conversation

Kyle Field and Aggie Park sit within a busy campus event setting. Tailgating, walking routes, parking, and qualifying football flight restrictions can all affect a proposal. A neighboring open space should never be assumed available because it looks empty in a photograph.

A personal finale across the Brazos Valley

For a wedding near Wellborn or a family gathering toward Bryan, a name, date, or shared symbol can become the final image. Tree lines, neighboring properties, guest placement, and equipment access help determine which private sites can support the idea.

Review more than the nearest runway

Easterwood Airport, Coulter Airfield in Bryan, and flight-test activity at RELLIS are different aviation considerations. Exact coordinates, the complete performance volume, and current notices matter more than a general Aggieland address. Former air-base land is not automatically available for an event.

University football stadium

Kyle Field

College Station, Texas

Discuss any concept with Texas A&M Athletics. Check qualifying football restrictions, the event schedule, seating sightlines, campus permission, and a launch footprint separated from spectators.

Campus park, amphitheater & performance pavilion

Aggie Park

College Station, Texas

A university-managed outdoor gathering place next to Kyle Field. Reservations, campus drone procedures, tailgating use, trees, and public routes require review before selecting a flight area.

Outdoor stage & civic festival grounds

Wolf Pen Creek Amphitheater and festival site

College Station, Texas

The amphitheater lawn and festival land offer distinct audience arrangements. City rental and event permissions, trails, trees, and separate launch space must be assessed for the particular event.

Bryan, Texas · outside College Station

A nearby Bryan setting for an operator-led event discussion. Review occupied buildings, livestock, event traffic, outdoor sightlines, and the actual flight footprint rather than assuming the arena provides open-sky viewing.

The airspace is part of the plan

Airports, airspace
& FAA approvals.

The right starting point is your exact venue, launch location, show height, and date.

For each proposed show, we check current FAA maps, NOTAMs, temporary flight restrictions, and the complete flight area. Nearby airports and military facilities are part of that review, alongside other local aviation activity.

Easterwood Airport

College Station

Official facility information

The airport is an early consideration for campus and west-side proposals. Check the full flight volume against current airspace, FAA facility maps, and notices before deciding which authorization is needed.

Coulter Airfield

Bryan · outside College Station

Official facility information

Bryan’s municipal airport belongs in the review when plans extend north and east across the twin-city area. Review aircraft activity and the actual performance location independently of the venue’s city label.

Texas A&M–RELLIS flight-test facilities

Bryan area · former Bryan Air Force Base

Official facility information

RELLIS supports university UAS testing on former air-base property. Current research operations, operator access, site rules, and airspace must be coordinated; historical military use does not establish current event permission.

FAA airspace authorization

Where the flight area requires controlled-airspace authorization, we identify the applicable FAA process. LAANC may be available for eligible operations; airspace authorization for operations using an operational waiver follows the FAA’s designated process through FAADroneZone. An airport phone call is not a substitute for the required FAA authorization.

FAA authorization guidance

Stadiums & event restrictions

Qualifying sporting events can trigger temporary flight restrictions affecting stadiums and surrounding areas. We review the applicable notices and show timing; venue permission or a routine airspace authorization alone does not remove these restrictions.

Show operations & ground permissions

The show plan also determines operational waiver requirements, including a multiple-aircraft waiver where one pilot operates multiple drones. New operational waiver applications use the FAA’s Aviation Safety Hub. Venue and landowner permission, crowd separation, and any local event permits are handled alongside the aviation review.

FAA waiver guidance

Texas A&M campus flight review

Texas A&M requires a UAS flight request with supporting documents through its review process. Campus approval is assessed alongside FAA requirements and venue permission; no approval is requested by this guide.

College Station event permits

The City distinguishes special-event requirements from park rental agreements. Review the current rules for the actual property, event format, public access, and attendance.

A few things you might be wondering

Planning a show
in College Station?

Can a show be planned around a Texas A&M event?

Share the campus contact, venue, date, and proposed viewing area. University approval, any qualifying stadium-event restrictions, operational waivers, and controlled-airspace authorization are separate requirements. A campus event booking does not establish an approved flight area.

Can you plan a drone show at my College Station venue?

Start by sharing the address, event date, and any venue information you have. We review the proposed launch area, audience viewing position, access, surrounding airspace, and site conditions before confirming whether a show is feasible.

Do you work outside downtown College Station?

We welcome enquiries for College Station and the surrounding communities. Bryan is a separate city. Wellborn is a local College Station reference; the exact property address determines which land permissions and airspace apply. Share the full venue address and event date so we can assess the actual site.

Can the show include our logo, names, or music?

Yes. We design formations, colors, animation, and choreography around your story. Tell us which brand elements, personal details, and music matter to the event so we can discuss the creative direction.

How much does an event in College Station cost?

Pricing depends on the number of drones, creative scope, event location, travel, and production requirements. Share your plans and we’ll prepare a quote for your event.

How far ahead should we get in touch?

Contact us as soon as you have a date and a possible venue. Early planning gives us time to review the location, develop the show, and coordinate the event requirements. Availability depends on your date and production needs.

What happens if the weather changes?

Weather is part of the planning and show-day review. We discuss operating conditions and contingency arrangements with you before the event; the final decision to fly depends on conditions on the day.
