Made for this moment

A Glasgow rhythm. A moment together.
At sky scale.

Glasgow Green, Kelvingrove and Hampden bring together very different audiences. A community programme, company occasion or private reception can draw on the city’s musical energy while the production plan deals with the actual site, flight area and guest sightlines. Clyde-side views and parkland still require specific ground and aviation permissions.

Starbound Labs designs the show and brings the performance together. Our Spectra drones, in-house firmware, and Starbound OS software connect the creative work with the fleet and team on the ground.

Rooted in Glasgow

A show with a sense of place.

Local inspiration. A story made for your audience.

Let a musical arc lead the design

Glasgow’s outdoor music calendar ranges from park concerts to major stadium events. For your own programme, the display can grow through rhythm and colour towards a shared final shape. We do not imply participation in an existing festival or permission to use specific music.

A Glasgow Green gathering

Glasgow Green hosts major organised events as well as everyday activity. A proposed show needs a workable event boundary, separated launch land and consideration for the river, surrounding routes and other park users. Its event history is context, not launch approval.

Kelvingrove’s bandstand audience

The bandstand and amphitheatre create a recognisable live-music setting. Trees, the viewing bowl, neighbouring buildings and public park routes also shape an aerial proposal. A performance on the stage does not automatically have the space required for a drone finale.

Sporting guests at Hampden

A Hampden hospitality event needs the operator’s involvement and a clear plan for what guests can see beyond the roof. Crowd movement, security and surrounding residential streets affect the options. The aerial operation requires its own permissions.

A company evening by the Clyde

For a reception near the Clyde, flowing formations can draw on movement and connection. The exact property needs assessment of public quays, nearby structures and outdoor viewing. Proposed promotional content is reviewed separately under the applicable U.K. rules.

Long summer evenings and western airspace

A summer event needs a display window suited to darkness as well as venue conditions. Proposals toward Paisley or Renfrew must also consider Glasgow Airport. We review the actual date and location rather than promise a standard evening slot across the city.

The airspace is part of the plan

Airports, airspace
& CAA authorisations.

The right starting point is your exact venue, launch location, show height, and date.

We review current U.K. aeronautical information, NOTAMs, restricted airspace and aerodrome Flight Restriction Zones against the full flight area, altitude and date. Civilian and military activity, temporary restrictions and ground permissions each form part of the plan.

Glasgow Airport

Paisley, Renfrewshire · outside Glasgow city

Official facility information

Check its current FRZ, airspace and application route for the complete operation. Western city and Renfrewshire proposals need site-specific assessment.

Glasgow Prestwick Airport

South Ayrshire · wider region, outside Glasgow metro

Official facility information

A separate airport southwest of Glasgow. It becomes relevant where the actual event extends toward Ayrshire, not simply because a proposal is marketed as Glasgow-area.

HM Naval Base Clyde

Faslane, Argyll and Bute · wider region, outside Glasgow metro

Official facility information

A sensitive military installation for proposals extending toward the Clyde sea lochs. Review relevant security restrictions separately; this is not a Glasgow civilian airport.

CAA operational authorisation

A swarm display needs an authorisation appropriate to the operation. We review the proposed fleet, flight volume, crowd separation and operating conditions against the applicable Specific Category requirements and current CAA swarm guidance.

CAA swarm guidance

Airspace & aerodrome permission

Operational authorisation and permission to use restricted airspace are separate. We check FRZ boundaries, other restrictions and the relevant aerodrome or air traffic permission process, including NATS where applicable. A NOTAM is a notice, not a flight permission.

NATS flight application guidance

Creative content & ground permissions

Landowner consent, council event requirements and the proposed display content need their own review. CAA guidance flags aerial advertising restrictions under section 82 of the Civil Aviation Act; operational authorisation does not settle those requirements.

Outdoor music settings

The city’s tourism guide identifies established outdoor music venues. Those references do not confirm drone access or participation in existing programmes.

A few things you might be wondering

Planning a show
in Glasgow?

How does summer daylight affect a Glasgow show?

The performance window needs sufficient darkness for the intended effect and must also fit event hours, access and aviation conditions. We assess the exact date and agree a workable schedule and contingency plan rather than promise a fixed time throughout the year.

Can you plan a drone show at my Glasgow venue?

Start by sharing the address, event date, and any venue information you have. We review the proposed launch area, audience viewing position, access, surrounding airspace, and site conditions before confirming whether a show is feasible.

Do you work outside central Glasgow?

We welcome enquiries for Glasgow and the surrounding area. Paisley, Renfrew and Clydebank are separate places. Edinburgh is a separate city farther east, not a Glasgow-area venue. Share the venue address, date and audience layout so we can assess the specific proposal.

What creative content can a U.K. show include?

We can explore shapes, colour, movement and music for an entertainment-led display. The CAA highlights restrictions on aerial advertising and other communications under section 82 of the Civil Aviation Act. Logos, QR codes and written messages need particular review; an operational authorisation alone does not establish that the content is lawful.

How much does an event in Glasgow cost?

Pricing depends on the number of drones, creative scope, event location, travel, and production requirements. Share your plans and we’ll prepare a quote for your event.

How far ahead should we get in touch?

Contact us as soon as you have a date and a possible venue. Early planning gives us time to review the location, develop the show, and coordinate the event requirements. Availability depends on your date and production needs.

What happens if the weather changes?

Weather is part of the planning and show-day review. We discuss operating conditions and contingency arrangements with you before the event; the final decision to fly depends on conditions on the day.
