Made for this moment

A Granite City story. Shared in light.
At sky scale.

Aberdeen’s parks, beachfront and event campuses offer different settings for an audience. We can develop an original sequence around movement and colour while reviewing a precise outdoor footprint. The city’s airport and helicopter activity, coastal exposure and seasonal darkness make early planning particularly useful.

Starbound Labs designs the show and brings the performance together. Our Spectra drones, in-house firmware, and Starbound OS software connect the creative work with the fleet and team on the ground.

Rooted in Aberdeen

A show with a sense of place.

Local inspiration. A story made for your audience.

Granite forms as a creative reference

Aberdeen’s built character can inspire a sequence of strong lines, repeated shapes and changing light. For a civic or company milestone, the design should tell your event’s own story. A skyline reference does not imply flight access over the buildings it depicts.

A garden gathering in Duthie Park

Duthie Park offers outdoor and garden settings for private and community occasions. Trees, water features, visitor routes and sensitive planting affect what could be considered. A ceremony booking is separate from consent for an aerial display and controlled operating area.

A reception at the P&J Live campus

A company or conference gathering at P&J Live needs suitable outdoor guest positions if a drone finale is proposed. Its western location also makes airport-related review an early step. Indoor event space does not provide open-sky viewing or automatic launch rights.

A sporting occasion near Pittodrie

Pittodrie gives football gatherings a recognisable setting. Rooflines, surrounding homes, traffic and the coastal location can all affect a proposal. The operator and production team need to review the exact event configuration and separated ground footprint.

A beachfront view with practical limits

Aberdeen’s coast can inspire a flowing visual sequence, but exposed weather and public promenades require attention. Any waterfront idea needs a defined site and an appropriate viewing direction, with current beachfront works and access arrangements checked for the date.

Aircraft activity beyond a timetable

Aberdeen Airport’s operations include aviation serving the wider northeast. The relevant review includes helicopter as well as fixed-wing activity. A late show or a property away from the terminal still needs current airspace information and the applicable permissions.

Council ceremony hire is distinct from a drone proposal. Review trees, gardens, water and visitor access before assessing a controlled launch footprint.

The halls are indoor spaces. Any aerial component needs an agreed outdoor audience area, suitable launch land and an early airport feasibility review.

The airspace is part of the plan

Airports, airspace
& CAA authorisations.

The right starting point is your exact venue, launch location, show height, and date.

We review current U.K. aeronautical information, NOTAMs, restricted airspace and aerodrome Flight Restriction Zones against the full flight area, altitude and date. Civilian and military activity, temporary restrictions and ground permissions each form part of the plan.

Aberdeen International Airport

Dyce, Aberdeen

Official facility information

Review the airport’s current drone information, airspace and relevant helicopter activity for the full proposed operation. Airport permission and CAA authorisation remain distinct.

RAF Lossiemouth

Moray · wider region, well outside Aberdeen metro

Official facility information

A military airfield reference for proposals extending north and west across the region. It is not an Aberdeen airport; review its requirements only where relevant to the actual event and operation.

CAA operational authorisation

A swarm display needs an authorisation appropriate to the operation. We review the proposed fleet, flight volume, crowd separation and operating conditions against the applicable Specific Category requirements and current CAA swarm guidance.

CAA swarm guidance

Airspace & aerodrome permission

Operational authorisation and permission to use restricted airspace are separate. We check FRZ boundaries, other restrictions and the relevant aerodrome or air traffic permission process, including NATS where applicable. A NOTAM is a notice, not a flight permission.

NATS flight application guidance

Creative content & ground permissions

Landowner consent, council event requirements and the proposed display content need their own review. CAA guidance flags aerial advertising restrictions under section 82 of the Civil Aviation Act; operational authorisation does not settle those requirements.

CAA aerial advertising guidance

Aberdeen park bookings

Council park and ceremony information identifies the specific facilities being hired. Aerial production needs separate consent and feasibility review.

A few things you might be wondering

Planning a show
in Aberdeen?

What should an Aberdeen conference organiser send first?

Send the venue address, proposed outdoor guest position, date and event schedule. We need to assess suitable launch land and the full flight volume alongside airport and helicopter activity. A conference booking does not itself establish an outdoor show site.

Can you plan a drone show at my Aberdeen venue?

Start by sharing the address, event date, and any venue information you have. We review the proposed launch area, audience viewing position, access, surrounding airspace, and site conditions before confirming whether a show is feasible.

Do you work outside central Aberdeen?

We welcome enquiries for Aberdeen and the surrounding area. Dyce is within Aberdeen; Westhill, Stonehaven and Inverurie are separate Aberdeenshire towns. Airport proximity, terrain and coastal exposure vary. Share the venue address, date and audience layout so we can assess the specific proposal.

What creative content can a U.K. show include?

We can explore shapes, colour, movement and music for an entertainment-led display. The CAA highlights restrictions on aerial advertising and other communications under section 82 of the Civil Aviation Act. Logos, QR codes and written messages need particular review; an operational authorisation alone does not establish that the content is lawful.

How much does an event in Aberdeen cost?

Pricing depends on the number of drones, creative scope, event location, travel, and production requirements. Share your plans and we’ll prepare a quote for your event.

How far ahead should we get in touch?

Contact us as soon as you have a date and a possible venue. Early planning gives us time to review the location, develop the show, and coordinate the event requirements. Availability depends on your date and production needs.

What happens if the weather changes?

Weather is part of the planning and show-day review. We discuss operating conditions and contingency arrangements with you before the event; the final decision to fly depends on conditions on the day.
