Made for this moment

A Belfast story. Told together.
At sky scale.

The Titanic Quarter, Cathedral Quarter and green spaces south of the city offer different starting points for an event. From a community music evening to a company celebration or wedding, we design an entertainment-led sequence around the occasion. Harbour activity, nearby airports and public access make early site planning essential.

Starbound Labs designs the show and brings the performance together. Our Spectra drones, in-house firmware, and Starbound OS software connect the creative work with the fleet and team on the ground.

Show imagery illustrates creative possibilities, rather than performances at specific Belfast venues.

Rooted in Belfast

A show with a sense of place.

Local inspiration. A story made for your audience.

A maritime story in movement

The Titanic Quarter and Maritime Mile connect Belfast’s waterfront with its shipbuilding story. Curves, rhythm and changing colour can inspire a display for your own gathering. Dock operations, water edges, visitor routes and nearby aviation need review before choosing a performance area.

A musical ending for a creative city

Belfast City Council identifies the city as a UNESCO City of Music and lists outdoor festival settings. A show for your own music programme can build towards a clear final image. The soundtrack, crowd position and event schedule should be developed together, without implying participation in an existing festival.

Cathedral Quarter character at sky scale

The Cathedral Quarter’s arts and music activity offers inspiration for a locally rooted evening. Narrow streets and closely spaced buildings are practical constraints. The creative can draw on that atmosphere while the organiser and production team identify a separately assessed outdoor location.

Company guests, a shared experience

For a conference reception or staff celebration, a sequence of expressive shapes can provide a memorable ending. U.K. rules on aerial advertising and communications require review of proposed promotional content. Begin with an entertainment concept rather than assume a company logo can appear in the sky.

Football occasions with their own permissions

The Clearer Twist National Stadium at Windsor Park is a focal point for football gatherings. A proposed aerial addition needs operator involvement and a separate plan for launch space, roof obstructions and spectator movement. Hospitality access alone does not provide flight permission.

A personal finale beyond the busy waterfront

Wedding and family-event proposals around Belfast or towards Lisburn and Bangor can use colour and movement to create a personal atmosphere. Trees, neighbouring homes, land boundaries and Lough-side wind exposure may affect the setting. The exact property determines what can be planned.

Use these venues as starting points for your event plan. Each listing is a potential setting for individual review, with venue participation, permissions, launch and flight space, airspace, and show timing confirmed before a performance is agreed.

Waterfront event space

Titanic Slipways

Belfast, Northern Ireland

The operator offers the Slipways and Paddock for events. Review working waterfront activity, public routes, harbour consent, launch control and Belfast City Airport requirements for the exact performance area.

Official venue website

Public park & outdoor festival setting

Ormeau Park

Belfast, Northern Ireland

The council identifies the park as an outdoor music venue. Trees, wildlife, sports use, event boundaries and public access require review; a park event agreement does not include aviation permissions.

Official venue website

Civic square & outdoor concert setting

Custom House Square

Belfast, Northern Ireland

The council lists concert programmes here. Surrounding streets and buildings, guest sightlines and limited ground-control options need assessment before an aerial component can be considered.

Official venue website

National football stadium & hospitality setting

Clearer Twist National Stadium at Windsor Park

Belfast, Northern Ireland

Use the Irish FA’s current stadium information for an operator discussion. Rooflines, spectator flows, adjacent land and the required flight volume need separate review for the proposed event.

The airspace is part of the plan

Airports, airspace
& CAA authorisations.

The right starting point is your exact venue, launch location, show height, and date.

We review current U.K. aeronautical information, NOTAMs, restricted airspace and aerodrome Flight Restriction Zones against the full flight area, altitude and date. Civilian and military activity, temporary restrictions and ground permissions each form part of the plan.

George Best Belfast City Airport

East Belfast / Belfast Lough waterfront

Official facility information

The airport publishes a drone permission process in its FAQs. Check its current FRZ and application requirements for the full flight volume, particularly waterfront proposals, separately from CAA operational authorisation.

Belfast International Airport

Aldergrove, County Antrim · outside Belfast

Official facility information

A separate airport northwest of the city. NATS lists a drone application route; review current airspace and aerodrome requirements for the proposed address, especially events extending toward Aldergrove.

Joint Helicopter Command Flying Station Aldergrove

Aldergrove, County Antrim · outside Belfast

Official facility information

The RAF identifies the military flying station at Aldergrove. Military activity and any relevant restrictions are separate considerations from civilian airport permissions and event-land consent.

CAA operational authorisation

A swarm display needs an authorisation appropriate to the operation. We review the proposed fleet, flight volume, crowd separation and operating conditions against the applicable Specific Category requirements and current CAA swarm guidance.

CAA swarm guidance

Airspace & aerodrome permission

Operational authorisation and permission to use restricted airspace are separate. We check FRZ boundaries, other restrictions and the relevant aerodrome or air traffic permission process, including NATS where applicable. A NOTAM is a notice, not a flight permission.

NATS flight application guidance

Creative content & ground permissions

Landowner consent, council event requirements and the proposed display content need their own review. CAA guidance flags aerial advertising restrictions under section 82 of the Civil Aviation Act; operational authorisation does not settle those requirements.

CAA aerial advertising guidance

Belfast Harbour estate consent

The harbour publishes a drone application process for its estate. Establish whether the proposed flight and launch area involves harbour-controlled land, and coordinate that consent alongside airport and CAA requirements.

Official planning guidance

Outdoor event coordination

Council guidance identifies parks and squares used by independent festival organisers. Venue access, noise, transport and the specific event management plan need review alongside the aerial operation.

A few things you might be wondering

Planning a show
in Belfast?

Can a Titanic Quarter event include a drone show?

The venue and full flight footprint need assessment first. Belfast City Airport permissions, harbour estate consent where applicable, working waterfront activity, audience separation and the appropriate CAA operational authorisation are distinct requirements. A slipway or reception booking alone does not confirm a launch site or flight approval.

Can you plan a drone show at my Belfast venue?

Start by sharing the address, event date, and any venue information you have. We review the proposed launch area, audience viewing position, access, surrounding airspace, and site conditions before confirming whether a show is feasible.

Do you work outside central Belfast?

Yes. We welcome enquiries for Lisburn, Holywood, Bangor, Carrickfergus and other surrounding communities. Send the full address and event date so we can review the actual flight area, landowner consent, public access and local aviation rather than apply a single Belfast-wide assumption.

What creative content can a U.K. show include?

We can explore shapes, colour, movement and music for an entertainment-led display. The CAA highlights restrictions on aerial advertising and other communications under section 82 of the Civil Aviation Act. Logos, QR codes and written messages need particular review; an operational authorisation alone does not establish that the content is lawful.

How much does an event in Belfast cost?

Pricing depends on the number of drones, creative scope, event location, travel, and production requirements. Share your plans and we’ll prepare a quote for your event.

How far ahead should we get in touch?

Contact us as soon as you have a date and a possible venue. Early planning gives us time to review the location, develop the show, and coordinate the event requirements. Availability depends on your date and production needs.

What happens if the weather changes?

Weather is part of the planning and show-day review. We discuss operating conditions and contingency arrangements with you before the event; the final decision to fly depends on conditions on the day.
