Made for this moment

Tulsa, in your own light.
At sky scale.

The Arts District’s performance spaces, Greenwood’s ballpark setting, and the riverfront suggest different ways to bring people together. We develop an original show around the occasion and its contributors, with the audience view and a workable flight footprint established for the selected property.

Starbound Labs designs the show and brings the performance together. Our Spectra drones, in-house firmware, and Starbound OS software connect the creative work with the fleet and team on the ground.

Rooted in Tulsa

A show with a sense of place.

Local inspiration. A story made for your audience.

A musical idea with room to grow

The Arts District’s stages and cultural institutions offer context for a music-led evening. A simple visual phrase can evolve with your chosen soundtrack into a closing image. We discuss rights and the event’s creative direction, then assess nearby buildings, stage structures, and the audience’s actual view.

A Route 66 story of your own

Tulsa’s Route 66 celebrations offer a starting point for a journey told through light. A moving line might become a wheel, a landmark-inspired outline, or your anniversary message. We build original artwork for the hosts and review the specific property; a road-themed concept does not imply operating above live traffic.

A riverfront gathering, composed for one view

The Arkansas River and Gathering Place create a recognizable setting for a community celebration. Audience direction matters: guests on opposite sides of the river will read the same formation differently. We review trails, bridges, water users, trees, and land access before placing an aerial story in that setting.

A brand reveal beyond the reception

A company milestone can move from a meeting or reception into an outdoor reveal. Gathering Place offers event venues to discuss with its operator, while downtown settings have their own rooflines and street activity. We establish guest access and separate flight space before developing the final transition.

A moment for the people cheering together

A Drillers gathering at ONEOK Field or a Golden Hurricane football celebration calls for approved team imagery and a plan specific to the event. Stadium lighting, nearby streets, audience orientation, and any qualifying football restrictions affect the proposal. A sports booking does not provide aviation clearance.

Make the last image personal

For a wedding toward Jenks or a private celebration in Broken Arrow, a meaningful symbol can become the closing reveal. We review neighboring properties, trees, ground access, and guest separation. Riverside Airport, Tulsa International, and military activity affect different locations, so the exact address is essential.

The airspace is part of the plan

Airports, airspace
& FAA approvals.

The right starting point is your exact venue, launch location, show height, and date.

For each proposed show, we check current FAA maps, NOTAMs, temporary flight restrictions, and the complete flight area. Nearby airports and military facilities are part of that review, alongside other local aviation activity.

Tulsa International Airport (TUL)

Northeast Tulsa

Official facility information

Review the full performance volume against current controlled airspace and notices. Commercial and other aircraft activity matter beyond airport property boundaries.

Tulsa Riverside Airport (RVS)

South Tulsa / Jenks area

Official facility information

A key consideration for south Tulsa, Jenks, and nearby proposals. Review training traffic, current airspace, launch coordinates, and the intended show height.

Tulsa Air National Guard Base — 138th Fighter Wing

Tulsa International Airport · military installation

Official facility information

Military flying activity and installation restrictions require separate review from civilian airspace authorization and event-site permission.

FAA airspace authorization

Where the flight area requires controlled-airspace authorization, we identify the applicable FAA process. LAANC may be available for eligible operations; airspace authorization for operations using an operational waiver follows the FAA’s designated process through FAADroneZone. An airport phone call is not a substitute for the required FAA authorization.

FAA authorization guidance

Stadiums & event restrictions

Qualifying sporting events can trigger temporary flight restrictions affecting stadiums and surrounding areas. We review the applicable notices and show timing; venue permission or a routine airspace authorization alone does not remove these restrictions.

FAA stadium guidance

Show operations & ground permissions

The show plan also determines operational waiver requirements, including a multiple-aircraft waiver where one pilot operates multiple drones. New operational waiver applications use the FAA’s Aviation Safety Hub. Venue and landowner permission, crowd separation, and any local event permits are handled alongside the aviation review.

FAA waiver guidance

Tulsa special-event coordination

Coordinate event land use, road impacts, crowd planning, and park or venue requirements with the relevant operator and city office. These permissions do not replace aviation authorization.

Arkansas River trails, bridges, trees, and active recreation shape riverfront proposals. South-area sites need a distinct Riverside Airport review; north and east proposals have a different aviation environment.

A few things you might be wondering

Planning a show
in Tulsa?

Can a riverfront or Arts District event include a show?

We first review the exact viewing area and a separate flight footprint. Downtown buildings, trees, river users, trails, nearby roads, and local aviation can affect feasibility. A park or stage booking does not by itself establish drone permission.

Can you plan a drone show at my Tulsa venue?

Start by sharing the address, event date, and any venue information you have. We review the proposed launch area, audience viewing position, access, surrounding airspace, and site conditions before confirming whether a show is feasible.

Do you work outside downtown Tulsa?

We welcome enquiries for Tulsa and communities including Broken Arrow, Jenks, Bixby, Owasso, Sand Springs, Sapulpa. Each proposed site needs its own flight, access, and audience review.

Can the show include our logo, names, or music?

Yes. We design formations, colors, animation, and choreography around your story. Tell us which brand elements, personal details, and music matter to the event so we can discuss the creative direction.

How much does an event in Tulsa cost?

Pricing depends on the number of drones, creative scope, event location, travel, and production requirements. Share your plans and we’ll prepare a quote for your event.

How far ahead should we get in touch?

Contact us as soon as you have a date and a possible venue. Early planning gives us time to review the location, develop the show, and coordinate the event requirements. Availability depends on your date and production needs.

What happens if the weather changes?

Weather is part of the planning and show-day review. We discuss operating conditions and contingency arrangements with you before the event; the final decision to fly depends on conditions on the day.
