Made for this moment

A city of many perspectives.
At sky scale.

Roosevelt Row’s creative energy, the convention district, and the parks beyond downtown offer different starting points for a Phoenix show. We connect your idea to the people attending, then review the real audience view and aircraft operating area. Desert terrain, buildings, heat, and busy aviation corridors are part of that first conversation.

Starbound Labs designs the show and brings the performance together. Our Spectra drones, in-house firmware, and Starbound OS software connect the creative work with the fleet and team on the ground.

Rooted in Phoenix

A show with a sense of place.

Local inspiration. A story made for your audience.

A line from the gallery to the sky

Roosevelt Row and First Friday offer a creative context for an artist-led gathering. A commissioned shape could expand into an animated sequence above an agreed viewing area. We develop the brief with your collaborators, confirm artwork rights, and review rooflines, street activity, and a separate flight footprint.

Let a closing message travel farther

A Phoenix Convention Center reception can end with a reveal guests experience together outdoors. We start with the route from the room to the viewing area, then design a readable logo, product silhouette, or milestone. Downtown towers and surrounding roads determine which directions and operating spaces can be considered.

A park finale with a defined view

Steele Indian School Park offers a different event setting from the dense downtown grid. A civic celebration could build from a simple pattern into a community-chosen image. Trees, paths, active recreation, and historic features still shape the assessment; reserving a lawn does not establish a suitable aircraft area.

A desert horizon, composed for your audience

The mountain silhouettes around Phoenix can inspire a restrained sequence for a private celebration. We compose for the actual guest position and assess slopes, neighboring property, access, and night lighting. A distant open view does not mean the land beneath the proposed formations is available to operate from.

Bring the home crowd into the story

Diamondbacks, Suns, and Mercury gatherings invite different event plans. Approved colors and graphics can anchor a fan celebration, while rooflines and outdoor access shape the view. Chase Field’s baseball schedule and any applicable stadium restrictions require review; an indoor arena audience needs an exterior viewing arrangement.

A personal reveal after the reception

For a wedding at a Phoenix property, a date or meaningful symbol can become the last image of the evening. We review where guests would stand, how equipment reaches the operating area, and how neighboring land is used. Temperature, wind, and a weather contingency belong in the production plan.

The airspace is part of the plan

Airports, airspace
& FAA approvals.

The right starting point is your exact venue, launch location, show height, and date.

For each proposed show, we check current FAA maps, NOTAMs, temporary flight restrictions, and the complete flight area. Nearby airports and military facilities are part of that review, alongside other local aviation activity.

Phoenix Sky Harbor International Airport (PHX)

Phoenix · central Valley

Official facility information

Assess the entire flight volume against current FAA maps and notices. Airport drone guidance does not itself grant an airspace authorization.

Phoenix Deer Valley Airport (DVT)

North Phoenix

Official facility information

Include general aviation and training traffic in north-area site review. Determine requirements from the exact coordinates, altitude, and date.

Phoenix Goodyear Airport (GYR)

Goodyear, Arizona · west metro

Official facility information

A separate airport environment relevant to west-Valley enquiries. Review the proposed flight area rather than assuming downtown Phoenix conditions apply.

Luke Air Force Base

Glendale area, Arizona · west metro military installation

Official facility information

Review installation restrictions, military operations, and current notices separately from civilian airspace authorization and ground permissions.

FAA airspace authorization

Where the flight area requires controlled-airspace authorization, we identify the applicable FAA process. LAANC may be available for eligible operations; airspace authorization for operations using an operational waiver follows the FAA’s designated process through FAADroneZone. An airport phone call is not a substitute for the required FAA authorization.

FAA authorization guidance

Stadiums & event restrictions

Qualifying sporting events can trigger temporary flight restrictions affecting stadiums and surrounding areas. We review the applicable notices and show timing; venue permission or a routine airspace authorization alone does not remove these restrictions.

FAA stadium guidance

Show operations & ground permissions

The show plan also determines operational waiver requirements, including a multiple-aircraft waiver where one pilot operates multiple drones. New operational waiver applications use the FAA’s Aviation Safety Hub. Venue and landowner permission, crowd separation, and any local event permits are handled alongside the aviation review.

FAA waiver guidance

Phoenix outdoor-event and park permissions

Identify the actual property operator and applicable assembly, park, street, and infrastructure requirements. Ground approvals and FAA requirements are separate.

A few things you might be wondering

Planning a show
in Phoenix?

Can a downtown Phoenix rooftop host the show?

A rooftop may offer a viewing position, but it is not automatically a launch site. We assess surrounding towers, streets, public access, airport airspace, and a separate operating footprint before confirming whether the proposed property can support a show.

Can you plan a drone show at my Phoenix venue?

Start by sharing the address, event date, and any venue information you have. We review the proposed launch area, audience viewing position, access, surrounding airspace, and site conditions before confirming whether a show is feasible.

Do you work outside downtown Phoenix?

We welcome enquiries for Phoenix and surrounding communities including Mesa, Chandler, Gilbert, Tempe, Scottsdale, Glendale. Every proposed property needs an individual site and aviation review.

Can the show include our logo, names, or music?

Yes. We design formations, colors, animation, and choreography around your story. Tell us which brand elements, personal details, and music matter to the event so we can discuss the creative direction.

How much does an event in Phoenix cost?

Pricing depends on the number of drones, creative scope, event location, travel, and production requirements. Share your plans and we’ll prepare a quote for your event.

How far ahead should we get in touch?

Contact us as soon as you have a date and a possible venue. Early planning gives us time to review the location, develop the show, and coordinate the event requirements. Availability depends on your date and production needs.

What happens if the weather changes?

Weather is part of the planning and show-day review. We discuss operating conditions and contingency arrangements with you before the event; the final decision to fly depends on conditions on the day.
